Ellen Reid, aka “Sellin’ Ellen” is
one of Charleston’s top selling real
estate agents. With Ellen’s experience,
and distinctions, it’s easy to
see why she ranks high among
REALTORS® in the Charleston area.
She has been a REALTOR® selling
Charleston since 1974. Her credentials
include being a Graduate
of the REALTORS® Institute, a Certified
Residential Specialist, and an
Accredited Buyers Representative.
Also, by being a Seniors Real Estate
Specialist, Ellen has demonstrated
requisite knowledge and expertise
to counsel senior clients through
major financial and lifestyle transitions
involved in relocating, refinancing, or selling the family home.
This intricate knowledge of the real
estate profession, in combination
with being in the top 1% of Prudential
agents, perfectly accounts
for why Ellen is within the ranks of
REALTORS® of Distinction. She is
familiar with the Charleston area’s
current real estate, specifically
downtown Charleston and West
Ashley, and has the amazing ability
to carry an inventory of available
houses in her head.
Having a broad range of skills
and knowledge also contribute to
Ellen’s expertise in the real estate
market. She is well-versed in investment
property and the legalities
of real estate that impact a client’s
new home. She also has a personal
network in the mortgage financing
industry in order to match a
loan officer and loan program to
her clients’ needs.
Ellen’s personal history and current
hobbies have helped shape
her personality, which exudes motivation,
humor, compassion, and
dedication. Her father was a plant
pathology professor at the University
of Georgia in Athens, instilling
in her a love of gardening. She is
currently a master gardener and is
active in the Charleston Horticulture
Society. She graduated cum
laude from the University and has
lived in some of the most beautiful
places in the country like San
Francisco and Hawaii.
Having become accustomed to
residing in beautiful places, Ellen has
a special fondness for Charleston
saying that its great historic district
makes it extraordinary. Because
she enjoys working with people,
she has been very active in Toastmasters
International, a non-profit
organization designed to help
people improve their communication
and leadership skills. She was
the local Toastmaster Governor for
district 58 from 1988 to 1989 and
has helped increase the number of
clubs in the Charleston area.
Ellen enjoys being a single parent
of three accomplished adult children,
who hold degrees from her
alma mater, College of Charleston,
and Furman. Her daughter resides
in Dallas, one son lives in Atlanta,
and the other son remains close to
home, living on James Island.
Ellen understands the REALTOR®
mindset in that she realizes that she
is in a people business where her
customers are her members. She
has a tenacious negotiating ability
with solutions to her clients’ buying
or selling needs in mind. Ellen brings
her enthusiasm, energy and keen
ability to matching people with the
perfect home.
