REALTOR® of Distinction: Jimmy Carroll
“This is not a career I tried after
trying others,” states Jimmy Carroll,
owner of Carroll Realty Inc. located
on the Isle of Palms. “This is the
career I choose after my college
graduation in 1978. After more
than 26 years in the business, no
one knows the Charleston market
as well as I do.”
In fact, Carroll has the credentials
to back up this bold claim.
A life-long resident of the area,
he and his mother started Carroll
Realty in 1981 and purchased
and developed the current Carroll
office complex in 1987. He
is a graduate of the REALTORS®
Institute (GRI), a Certified Residential
Specialists (CRS), a licensed
South Carolina contractor and
was recognized by the Association
of REALTORS® for Exceptional
Sales Achievement in 1984. He
has been recognized ever since
as a consistent top producer, and
is consistently in Charleston’s Top
1% of REALTORS®. “This is not
just something that happened,”
says Carroll. “It is the result of a lot
of hard work.”
Carroll has served in numerous
capacities in professional associations
with which he is affiliated. He
is a Past President of both Charleston’s
MLS and the East Cooper
Top Producers Club, and serves as
a Director for the South Carolina
Association of REALTORS®.
But his crowning professional
achievement? He is the first Isle
of Palms agent to preside over the
3,080-member Charleston Trident
Association of REALTORS®.
“A great deal of my success in
real estate can be attributed to dealing
with both my clients and my
competition fairly and honestly,”
continues Carroll, who personally
specializes in the high-end beach
market, including Isle of Palms, Wild
Dunes and Sullivan’s Island. “I try to
offer the best in customer service.”
From the Internet, multiple websites
and digital pictures, to a laptop,
cell phone, and toll-free phone
service, Carroll utilizes the latest
technology to keep customers in
touch and up-to-date. And with
the help of a full-time assistant, his
customer service remains steadfast.
Carroll believes in giving back
to the community that has been
so good to him. He has served
on the East Cooper Habitat for
Humanity’s Board of Directors.
“Since 2000, we have taken the
interest from our company escrow
account, approximately $80,000
so far, and given it to Habitat for
Humanity,” notes Carroll. “We
recognize the fact that not everyone
can afford a $1.2 million home.
This is why Carroll Realty reaches
out to the community through
Habitat for Humanity.”
Carroll is the father of three
sons, Jimmy, Winslow and Capers.
Being a father is also a job he
takes seriously. “These boys are
my pride and my joy,” adds Carroll.
“My kids always come first.
We have traveled cross-country
together and went to Costa Rica.
It was a great experience.”
