 |
When talking about her profession,
Terry Horres rarely uses the
word “I” because she feels that
both she and her assistant, Kim
Young, form a team with their
clients. Together, this team focuses
on successfully accomplishing their
real estate goals thoroughly and
fairly. Her clients are from all walks
of life, from those who are downsizing
due to lifestyle changes such
as retirement and divorce, to those
“moving up” because of growing
families, as well as to the uninitiated
first-time homebuyers. Terry’s
specializes in residential properties
in Mount Pleasant, but she’s very
familiar with and has sold homes
throughout James Island, West
Ashley, and Summerville, as well.
She is technologically savvy, utilizing
the Internet to communicate
instantly with her clients and to
keep them abreast of the everchanging
Charleston real estate
market. After working with Terry,
clients know they’ve been treated
fairly by a hard-working, dedicated,
and patient REALTOR® who is easy
to work with and has their best
interests always in focus.
Terry expresses her feelings
about why she likes her job so
well saying, “I really enjoy helping
people and making them feel
comfortable with the whole home
buying and selling process. I enjoy
introducing and educating clients
to the Charleston area. I make sure
that tasks are completed in the real
estate process to make for smooth
closings. Every day is different with
lots of multi-tasking and dealing
with interesting people, both
clients and agents.”
Her credentials are impressive
and distinctions well-earned. She
has her ABR, CRS and GRI. She
is an East Cooper Top Producer,
REALTOR® of Distinction for the
Board of REALTORS® and is currently
a member of the Executive’s
Circle with Prudential Carolina Real
Estate.
Before settling in Charleston in
1975 and entering into the real
estate profession over 20 years ago,
she lived in various states, working
with an array of people who
depended on her. She was born
and raised in Virginia, and attended
The University of Mary Washington
in Fredericksburg, Va., where she
earned her degree in social work
and psychology. From there, she
worked in foster care in Syracuse,
N.Y., specializing in adoptions in
Illinois, and was a geriatric social
worker in the Charleston tri-county
area. Terry currently lives in Mount
Pleasant with her husband, a native
Charlestonian, and enjoys singing
soprano in Mount Pleasant Presbyterian
Church’s choir, she also
loves researching the stock market
with her investment group, FIT, and
gardening.
Terry describes her affinity for
Charleston saying, “I have lived in
the mountains for much of my life,
always dreaming of living close
to water. I’m in that place! It’s a
great area to raise children and
a good place to retire. I love the
people, and there’s lots to do;
from international cultural and
sporting events to fine dining and
Lowcountry oyster roasts! I enjoy
sharing my love for the area with
my clients and introducing to them
the many facets of life that make
Charleston so desirable to homebuyers
from around the world.”
